Function & Working

Pressure safety valves (PSVs) operate on a spring-loaded or pilot-operated mechanism. When system pressure exceeds the set value, the valve opens automatically to vent fluid or gas until normal conditions are restored, after which it reseats to maintain tight shut-off. This self-actuating design ensures continuous protection without external power or manual intervention.

Testing & Certification

Each valve is hydrostatically tested at 1.5 times design pressure. Set pressure is calibrated for precise lift and reseating. Seat leakage testing is performed per API 527. Cryogenic testing down to –196 °C is carried out for LNG service when required. Non-destructive examinations such as RT, UT, MPI, and LPT are performed as per project specifications. All valves are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 material test certificates, QAP, ITP, and calibration documentation.
